Recapping an Exceptional Year: 11 Commercial Interior Projects Delivered – 11 Projects Initiated in 2023

Before diving into March, we take a moment to reflect on the incredible journey that was 2023 for Mico Design🤍

We kicked off the year with a bang, opening NAILS & CO in Midtown. This chain of beauty salons, born in Córdoba, Argentina, has swiftly expanded to encompass 19 locations across various provinces of Argentina, along with branches in Punta del Este, Uruguay.

Next up, we had the privilege of being part of a South Beach icon’s revival: NEWS CAFE. With over three decades of history, our task involved breathing new life into this beloved café while preserving its original charm. We blended vintage elements with modern touches, incorporating a photographic timeline featuring famous personalities who frequented the cafe. Additionally, we introduced QR codes with audiovisual content that recounts its rich history and added an updated version of the newsstand. The project received recognition with a nomination in the Innovative Design category at the 9th Annual Better Beach Awards hosted by City National Bank.

The openings of CAFE AMERICANO and SAN GINES posed unique challenges. Situated within Brickell City Centre, CAFE AMERICANO’s ambiance draws inspiration from the 1950s American diners. On the other hand, SAN GINES, a renowned chocolate haven hailing from Madrid with a 129-year legacy, unveiled its inaugural establishment in the United States.

Then came TEMPLE, a renowned craft beer chain from Argentina, which chose Wynwood as its launching pad for expansion into the United States. Additionally, SALITRADA, a swimwear brand originating eleven years ago in the coastal city of Mar del Plata, Argentina, and SIMONA, an experimental boutique seamlessly integrating beauty services with the sale of top-brand clothing, joined the scene. We’ve also completed the interior design for RISHTEDAR, an Indian food restaurant located in Wynwood.

Among the establishments we’ve designed in the Wynwood neighborhood, one standout is SKINNY LOUIE. Since its inauguration, it has consistently garnered excellent reviews. Similarly, CASA VIGIL, the restaurant of winemaker Alejandro Vigil in Buena Vista, has made waves. With its Mendoza location recently awarded a Michelin star, CASA VIGIL’s Miami establishment continues to earn praise and recognition, solidifying its status as a culinary destination.

We reached December with the cherry on top: the offices of the ARGENTINE FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION (AFA) in Wynwood. As Argentinians, this was a unique opportunity to put our creativity into action and bring to life the offices of one of the passions that represent us the most.

We’re currently deeply engaged in several exciting projects, such as the offices of Real Estate BM2 and BLOCK CAPITAL GROUP, the Asian-inspired grill SALTY FLAME, and the renowned Italian eatery PIEGARI. Additionally, we’ve contributed our design expertise to CASA ORCHIDEA, while actively progressing with projects such as BENTLEY HOTEL, CASA PETRA, NU, and TRIBU, and overseeing the execution of PRESIDENTE and NIÑO GORDO.
